Varsity offers new course
Tiruchi: The Bharathidasan University Library will offer MLISc,
a two-year integrated programme, from the current academic year.
According to a release from the University Librarian, S. Srinivasa
Ragavan, the special features of the programme are: add-on course
on soft skills; communication and leadership; campus interview
and placement; training programmes in information industries
and institutes of national importance such as IITs, IIMs and
NITs; and air-conditioned modern library facilities with access
to e-resources and digital library.
Qualifying candidates can also exercise the option of obtaining
BLISc. Degree at the end of the first year. Students can avail
hostel facilities and scholarship as per university norms.After
successful completion of MLISc., employment opportunities are
available in schools, colleges, universities, research institutions,
multinational and corporate organisations, and State and Central
Government undertakings.
