Pet Engineering College is a well-developed institution offering a variety of programmes in Technical Education. The College is an ISO 9001-2008 Certified Institution.

PET Engineering College is approved by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) New Delhi, recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu and affiliated to the Anna University. The College started functioning from September 1998 in its permanent Campus with spacious and attractive new buildings. The College is located at a sprawling site of 57 acres on the Vallioor - Tiruchendur Highway about 3 km. from the Vallioor Town and is well connected by roads and railways to the lengths and breadths of the Country.

It seeks to impart Technical Education of a high caliber to meet the growing needs of Engineers and Entrepreneurs in business and industry. The PET Engineering College is sponsored by Popular Educational Trust, a registered Charitable Trust.

Popular Educational Trust Known as PET, was founded in year 1996 and registered as a Charitable Trust.

The Trustees, a number of them employed in Gulf Countries, are generous in funding the Trust and are devoted to the cause of providing quality higher education in the field of Engineering, Technology, Professional, Managerial, Medical as well as general.

The vision of the PET is to reach out, to best of its ability, and impart World Class Education available in India and abroad to the youth of the country in general, educationally and economically backward communities, in particular.

The Trustees also lay stress to uphold the moral and social values of our nation and the educational upliftment of Muslims.

PET has successfully established PET Engineering College in 1998. As the first institution PET Engineering College celebrates its 11th year of existence.

The second institution PET - College of Teacher Education started functioning in 2008. To add another feather in realizing the vision of PET, the Trustees established PET Polytechnic College also from the academic year 2008-09.
