The Christian Institute for Technical Education was established in
1984 under the scheme of self-financing Polytechnic under the Directorate
of Technical Education Tamil nadu as per GO. No. 753/EST/84 dated
12-06-1984.
The Institution is a minority Institute run by Christian Education,
Health & Development Charitable Society, Ambilikkai. Reg. No.
17/1984 dated 05-10-1976. I.T. 12, A.No.177 of 09-12-1976.
The Institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) Vide
Ref .F. No. 418 GEN E&T 98 dt. Jan.22.1999.

The Institute is located in a campus having an area of 70 acres of beautiful level
land at the foot of the extension of Western Ghats. The hills at the
back of the Institute add a natural and enviable look to the Institute
with all the senic beauty. Thus the environs enchant this simple and
serene place helping to be so close with nature and provide an ideal
place for learning.
The institute is located beside the Madurai - Coimbatore Railway line
and Palani - Dindigul Road. The Institute is located 1 Km. Away from
the Bus stand and Railway Station on the way to Dindigul, near the
Check-Post.
The workshop, laboratories in the Institute and library are well equipped
as per the standards prescribed by Directorate of Technical Education.
The Institute provides ample scope for Co-curricular, extra curricular
activities , sports and games and so on. A pleasant and peaceful atmosphere
conducive to all round development of the students prevails in the
campus. The management, the members of the staff and the students
enjoy a cordial and congenial relationship with one another. The students
are motivated for achievements in the areas of academic and sports.
Proper guidance is provided for personality development and for social
living so that they could be of value to their families and society.
