Applications are invited for admission to the following programmes under CHOICE BASED CREDIT SYSTEM (CBCS) in the University Departments of Study and Research for year 2008 - 09.

Programs Offered: M.B.A, M.C.A, M.A, M.Sc, M.Phil, P.G. Diploma, Diploma & Certificate programmes

Important Dates to Remember:
Issue of Application Forms: 15.04.2008
Last Date of submission of filled-in application form for
1) P.G / M.Phil Courses / Self-supportive Courses: 26.05.2008
2) M.D and Diploma Courses: 30.04.2008
3) Diploma & Certificate Courses: 31.07.2008
4) M.B.A & M.C.A: With in 7days from the date of publication of the results of TANCET.

Date of Entrance Examination for M.Phil and P.G Programmes: The entrance exaimination will be held from 02 June 2008 onwards. The Heads of the Departments concerned will issue Hall-tickets indicating the place, date and time of Entrance Examination.

Application Cost:
In Person: Rs.200/- (General), Rs.100/- (for SC/ST)
By Post (including postal charges): Rs.250/-

Seperate application for each programme along with required attested Xerox copies of certificates shall be submitted direct to the Head of the University Department concerned.

Mode of Payment (DD / Cash):
Demand Draft in favour of "The Registrar, University of Madras Chennai - 5" payable at Chennai for admission to all the programmes. The name and address of the candidate should be written in the reverse of the demand draft.
Application Forms:

• In Person: Application and Academic Prospectus can be had in person at the Information Centre, University of Madras, Chennai on payment by cash for all the programmes.
  
  
• By Post: Those who want to obtain application and the prospectus by post have to send a written requisition specifying the name of the programme together with demand draft.
  
• Through Website: Application Forms can be downloaded from www.unom.ac.in and send the application along with Demand Draft towards registration fee to the below address.
  

MODE OF SELECTION :

• For MBA & MCA programmes selection will be made based on the marks obtained in the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) conducted by the Anna University on behalf of the Goverment of Tamil Nadu, following the community-wise reservation as stipulated by the Goverment. The candidates from other states except SC/ST candidates, will be considered under General turn. Therefore, the candidates (including other state canditates) who aspire for admission in the University of Madras, shall appear for the TANCET 2008 to be conducted on 17.05.2008.
  
• Those who are appearing for University Final Year examinations in April / May 2008, may also apply for TANCET 2008 and for admission to the MBA & MCA programmes in the University departments 15% supernumerary seats are available for MBA (Regular) and MCA programme for the Foreign National / NRI having a foreign passport and valid visa, without Entrance Examination.
  
• The entrance exaimination will be held from 02 June 2008 onwards for M.Phil and P.G Programmes. The Heads of the Departments concerned will issue Hall-tickets indicating the place, date and time of Entrance Examination
