Sriram Educational Trust was founded in the year 1983 with donations
from philanthropists for the noble purpose of promoting education
at all levels by establishing Polytechnic, Institute of Catering Technology
and Hotel Management, Engineering College, Arts & Science College,
Institute of Business Management and Training and Research Institutions.
Students hailing from the backward areas of Tiruvallur and North Arcot
districts of Tamilnadu have been immensely benefited by the Educational
Institutions run by the Trust.
Sriram Engineering College started during 1992 is affiliated to the University
of Madras and approved by AICTE, New Delhi.

The College has sufficient number of qualified and dedicated staff members to
impart education to students admitted in various branches of Engineering
and Technology. The College also has supporting administrative staff
for the smooth and effective running of the college. All the laboratories
are equipped with required machinery, plants and other equipments
for a better understanding of the theory taught to the students. The
College also has a state of the art computer centre with about 600
systems for students use presently. The College provides internet
facility to students and staff of the college with a special dedicated
data circuit which connects to VSNL Chennai for internet access.

A separate cell leaded by a Professor to organise industrial training for engineering
students in various industries in and around Chennai is functioning
in the college campus. This cell also assists the students to obtain
their projects during their final year studies. Apart from this, this
cell invites a number of prospective employers for the placement of
our students. In this regards around 100 students were placed every
year and this will go up progressively in future.
