The Srinivasa Educational Trust has been
founded with the singular aim of imparting quality education to aspiring
students in various disciplines of Engineering and Technology. The
trustees, with a farsighted vision and forethought, desired to set
up an Institution par Excellence that would grow to become one of
the best academic Institutions in Tamil Nadu. The Trustees, with their
rich experience in the management of diverse business activities have
drawn a blueprint to create excellent infrastructure in serene and
conducive surroundings that would pamper students in their pursuit
of knowledge and academic excellence.
The S.K.R. Engineering College is approved by the
All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New
Delhi and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The
College is ISO 9001:2000 certified by TUV Germany for
its quality educational Management System.
The College runs with the sole aim of imparting quality
technical education to the students and to develop them
into best Engineers, both in theory and practice. We do
not Just confine with teaching Science and Technology
of Engineering, but strive to crown it with an exercise
to instill into each student the virtues and skills needed
to make a difference in the world of tomorrow.

The College is located on a sprawling serene 30 acres
campus at Poonamallee, 17Kms from Central Railway station, on the
Chennai - Bangalore National Highway with easy access by road from
all directions.
WORKSHOP: A Well
maintained workshop consisting of fitting, carpentry, foundry, smithy,
sheet metal and welding divisions is
established.
LABORATORIES: Electronics, Electrical, Physics and
Chemistry Laboratories are fully equipped to accommodate more number
of students at a time during experiments as per syllabus.
COMPUTER CENTER: The state of the Art Computer Center
/ Laboratory is fully equipped with 150 Multimedia enabled PIV Systems
powered with latest software's. High speed Internet lab is available
in holiday also.
LIBRARY: The Central library is spacious and well
laid out with modern facilities. Besides the well maintained
department library, the central library has a collection
of 25000 volumes and has subscribed for 90 National and
International journals, which cater to fulfill the needs
of the students of all disciplines. The Library is fully
Computerized to facilitate the Students to have easy access.
Department of Science and Humanities
is the backbone of the entire Engineering Education. It
supports efficiently the Engineering Departments by providing
quality training in basic sciences. The main subjects
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English take shelter
under the wide umbrella of the Department of Science and
Humanities. The Department is enriched with fully furnished
PC based Communication lab and a good library with more
than 250 volumes on various titles. Special spoken English
classes are conducted for weak students to improve their
communication skills.
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering
is well laid out with the following modern laboratories
with latest equipments: Microwave and Optical Communication
Lab, Electronics Systems & Design Lab, Integrated
Circuits Lab, digital Signal Processing Lab, Microprocessor
and Micro Controller Lab, Communication System Lab, VLSI.
The Department association Besta provides a platform for
students initiative to learn various hard and soft skills.
The students are encouraged to present papers and participate
in the inter-collegiate quiz, Seminars and symposium.
A Set of dedicated, talented, well qualified and experienced
team of faculty leads the department to the front. A well
equipped Departmental library is also maintained with
more than 500 volumes of books on various titles for the
benefit of the staff and students.
The growth of Versatile operating Systems, programming
languages, Electronics and Communication system have given
the software industry, a boom to develop real time application
and high-end products. As the need of the hours is Quality
professionals who could equip themselves to industry standards
and become apart of "Technology inventors",
the Department of Computer Science and Engineering
targets the students to acquire the present industrial
requirements in various domains such as Data Structures,
DBMS, Systems Software, OOPS, Networks and Web Technology
etc. so as to provide better employment opportunities.
The internet center has a facility of 2 Mbps leased line
connection. The Department has been encouraging the students
to work and develop various software projects. It has
also been creating opportunities for pursuing postgraduate
programmes in reputed Indian and foreign universities.
The Department library has a collection of 500 books on
various titles catering to the needs of staff and students.
The Society Computer Science TRACE (Technology Reformers
Association for Computer Science Engineers) provides a
platform for the students to sharpen their problem - solving,
programming and team work skills. The Society also organizes
a State Level Technical Symposium every year.
Department of Information Technology
has a wide range of software and hardware facilities with
fully equipped laboratories to meet the latest syllabus
of Anna University. The Department has expertise in providing
web solutions to the students by using advanced web designing,
programming software like ASP.NET, PHOTOSHOP, FLASH, XML,
J2EE, etc., The well experienced and qualified faculty
are assisting in the development and hosting of of websites,
B2B applications and maintenance of existing portals.
The aim of IT association VISA (Versatile Information
Technology Students Association) is to encourage the students
to be self-motivated and to extract the hidden talents.
It also organizes a State Level Technical Symposium every
year.
Electrical and Electronics Engineering has become the
main brain and nerve system in the present world of automation,
computerization and industrialization. The Department
of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has
firm commitment to develop and produce Electrical Engineers
of high technical knowledge combined with leadership skills
and decision-making, design capabilities and problem solving
skils. The Department has well structured and equipped
laboratories. The faculty members represent amalgamation
of experience and enthusiasm in teaching and in industrial
exposure. The Department has well defined curriculum which
aims at training the students in various fields of Electrical,
Electronics and Computer applications at advanced levels
with due exposure to the latest innovations and advancements.
Mechanical Engineering is one of the largest and most
versatile programmes with various applications virtually
in every field and industry. Of all the Engineering disciplines,
Mechanical Engineering is the most diversified branch
which offers largest selection of career paths. The Department
of Mechanical Engineering is blessed with a set
of hard working and dedicated staff with illustrious Educational
backgrounds. The Department is well structured with Central
Workshop and fully equipped laboratories. The Department
has been consistently producing Engineers of good caliber
to satisfy the need of the industry. These engineers occupy
prestigious positions in the society. The Department also
strives hard to make and maintain the standard to the
pinnacle.
Department of Management Studies is equipped
with experienced faculty members, excellent infrastructure
and modern computer facilities. Special care is taken
not only to develop the academic skill but also the soft
skills of the students through teaching methods like News
hour, Case study, Seminars, Simulation exercises, Management
games, Industrial Visits, Summer Project, etc., Eminent
Academicians and Industrialist regularly deliver guest
Lectures and conduct interactive sessions with our students.
Our commitment is to produce successful entrepreneurs
and efficient Business Managers, who can influence people,
offer strategic direction, and make good use of financial,
human, technological and material resources.
Master of Computer Applications is a
program of extraordinary scope and vitality. The IT enabled
service sector is one of the fastest growing sectors of
the economy and it offers enormous opportunities to young
professionals. It is estimated that the gap between demand
and supply would increase in the coming years and this
represents even greater potential for a fast track career.
The Department aims at developing the academic skills
to enable the students to Interact with real life situations
and to build the systems Take up key positions in systems
management and project management in leading IT Corporations.
The Department also aims at developing skills, abilities
and knowledge of the students by conducting Seminars,
Guest Lectures, Symposia, Personality Development Programmes,
Placement Training Programmes and Industry Visits.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION: The Institute has
adequate grounds for sports in the campus. Necessary equipments and
facilities have been provided. A Physical Director is in charge of
Sports activities. A Basketball Court, 2 Volleyball Courts and 2 Shuttle
Courts, Football, Cricket Grounds available. Facilities for indoor games
like table tennis, chess and carroms and some fitness equipment have
been provided for boys and girls. Students are encouraged to participate
in Intercollegiate, Inter University and State Level Competitions. Multi
Gym with full-fledged latest equipments have been
provided.
CANTEEN: Excellent food both
vegetarian and non-vegetarian is hygienically prepared and served with
homely hospitality - A variety of hygienic, nutrious and delicious items
for breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and Dinner are
served.
HOSTEL: Separate Hostels for boys and
girls with attached bathrooms - Two persons per room - Excellent Water
facilities - A 125 KVA Generator set to ensure uninterrupted power
supply - Hostels provide an ideal ambience with a quiet rural backdrop
to make the inmates feel at home and take to serious study in a calm and
serene atomosphere.
TRANSPORT : College buses
will ply from different parts of the city, covering
the entire metropolis and suburbs with nominal charges.

The Training and Placement Cell,
in the true spirit of hands on exposure, facilitates various

of students. The Placement Cell continuously interacts

for arranging campus interviews for the final year students.
Industry Institute Interaction Cell (IIIC) join
hands with the Training and Placement Cell to under take
industry Visits, In-plant Training, R&D Projects,
Guest Lectures and Personality Development Programmes,
which enhance the technical ability and various soft skills
of the students and their exposure to the practical world.
