We would like to offer a word of Welcome and to introduce you to Shree Motilal
Kanhaiyalal Fomra Institute of Technology.
The Trust Motilal Kanhaiyalal Fomra Charitable Trust was founded during
the year 1995 by Late Shree Kamhaiyalaji Fomra with a view
to promote the cause of Education and to help the economically poor
student to pursue higher education in general and Technical Education
un particular.
The promoters are a well known business people in electrical trade (FOMRA ELECTRICALS
) for over 50 years and are pioneers in promoting schools and colleges
for over three decades.
Our mission is to prepare men and woman for roles of leadership and service. We
believe that a college has an obligation to provide a sound academic
education. For this we have created an exceptional infrastructure
such as fully equipped Laboratories, Lecture halls, seminar rooms
etc., and highly qualified & experienced faculty. It is in essence
an environment for learning and also a to the future. We have
attracted students from all over India. We see our students as the
leaders of tomorrow and we are committed to ensuring that when they
graduate, they take with them those skills and abilities and experience
essential for a successful professional life.

Campus
The College is spread over an area of 40 Acres of land. The College
has constructed buildings to accommodate the Lecture Halls, Computer
Lab, Electrical Lab, Electronic Devices Lab, Electronic Circuit &
Control Lab, Physics and Chemistry Labs, Drawing Hall, Workshop, Library,
Canteen, Hostel and Administrative Office. All the Infrastructure
facilities required as per the AICTE / Anna University norms are provided.
Separate waiting Halls / Rest Rooms are provided for the Boys and
Girls to rest during the intervals and recess periods.
Laboratories
Separate Physics and Chemistry Laboratories have been built spaciously with
necessary infrastructure as required by Anna University Syllabus.
Physics Laboratory consists of highly sophisticated instruments like Fiber
Optic experiment setup, Wavelength determination using Spectrometer.
Air wedge setup, Potentiometer experiment for Thermoemf, Lees disc
apparatus, Torsion and Compound Pendulum, Ultrasonic Interferometer
& Other physical instruments like CRO, Travelling microscope,
Optical instruments with Dark room facilities etc., for Physics experiments
to cover the Anna University syllabus and to do further studies and
research.
Chemistry Laboratory is designed with the view to accommodate the presaent
and future number of students, so it is very spacious, airy and elegant
as to make the students feel comfortable while doing the experiments.
The lab is provided with the never depleting chemicals and well maintained
equipments like Electronic Balance, Digital conduction meter, Digital
potentiometer, Spectrophotometer and analytic instruments like Flash
& Fire point, Pour and Could point apparatus, COD Distillation
set for the preparation of double distilled water etc., that will
help the students to carry on the experiments as per the syllabus
and also to continue their research work.
Computer Laboratory is equipped with Pentium IV machines connected with
2 windows NT Servers, one UNIX Server and another LINUX Server. Totally
we have 90 computer terminals, 4 dot matrix printers, 2 inkjet color
printers and Scanner. The laboratory has Uninterruptible Power Supply
of required capacity to conduct practical classes without interruption.We
also train the students in online method by making them to work with
the systems at the time of theory classes for practicing their lab
works. We provide an ISDN line for the students to practice Internet
Programming and to gather the related information too.
Library: The library has collection of more then 6000 volumes
in all the disciplines. It has adequate space and facilities to sit.
Read and take notes. A separate "reference" library is provided
for the teaching staff and students to have access to the latest information
and methodology of teaching. Large number of Indian and Foreign journals
are provided as "knowledge - explosion " is taking place over
the world. It is well equipped with all modern facilities and resources
in the form of books, journals and CD's. The library runs on open with
computerizes access system.
Lecture Hall: Lecture halls and Engineering Drawing hall are
spacious, well ventilated with enough lighting, fans and suitable
comfortable furniture.
Transport: The college operates buses to meet the transport demand of the
students from all parts of Chennai city, Tambaram and other nearby
areas.

The Placement cell arranges on and off campus
interviews for the students of our college in addition
to Anna University Centralized campus interview. In the
academic year 2005– 2006, our students got placed
in reputed industries like CTS, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Tele
Data Informatics, Virtusa, Polaris, Satyam Computers HCL
BPO, Sutherland, L & T and Slash Support. In the current
academic year, our students have been placed in Infosys,
Satyam Computers, TCS, Iflex solutions and Polaris and
the On and Off campus interviews are still on going.
