EASWARI ENGINEERING
COLLEGE (EEC), a Division of Sri Ramaswamy
Memorial Group (SRM GROUP) of Educational Institutions
for higher Learning, is functioning under the aegis of
Valliammai Educational Society, since
1996. The Society was founded in the year 1975 by Thiru.T.R.Pachamuthu,
a well-known Teacher and Educationist, for promoting the
cause of Education.
Having developed the concept for true Education and intellectual
integrity, the SRM Group focuses on providing world-class
education. The group seeks to encourage a new generation
of scholars in a wide range of disciplines with clear
Vision, Bold Initiatives, Wisdom, Sincerity or Purpose,
Commitment for Education, Spirit, Drive and Iron Will,
the SRM Group has gown over the years.
Today, the SRM GROUP, with its more than 17 Educational
Institutions, in different locations in the Country, is
highly ranked amongst the leading Groups of Educational
Institutions. A major thrust is placed for enhancing excellence
through a large variety of structured Academic Programs,
designed with Topics of relevance, as per UGC Norms; These
are included in the Curricula of the SRM Deemed University;
these cover Under-Graduate, Post-Graduate Courses and
Ph.D. Programs in various Disciplines, such as, Engineering
and Technology, Medicine, Dental Science and Surgery,
Life Sciences, Management, Hospitality and Hotel Management,
Paramedical, Nursing and Arts and Science.
The establishment of "Easwari Engineering College
for Women" during the Academic Year 1996-97 heralded
a bold step towards “Women's Empowerment”
in the State Capital Chennai. The focus for providing
Engineering Education for Women stems from considerations
that women compete and excel very well both academically
and professionally in Computer Science and Engineering
and in IT related areas. This was a pioneering effort
in the field of Technical Education in Tamil Nadu. The
College has been named after Madam Easwari Pachamuthu,
wife of the Founder Chairman. Easwari Engineering College
thus acquires the status being the only Engineering College
for Women affiliated to the University of Madras and the
only Engineering College for Women in Chennai.
Vision: To accomplish and maintain international
eminence and become a model institution for higher learningthrough
dedicated development of minds, advance ment of knowledge
and professional application of skills to meet the global
demands.
The College was originally affiliated to the University
of Madras. Pursuant to the Government decision on Technical
Education, Anna University had taken over reigns of all
Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu in December 2001. As
of now, the College is affiliated to Anna University.

The college has a five-storey building with
a floor area of 12000 sqm. The sixth floor is under construction.
It has well-furnished classrooms, full fledged laboratories
and workshops with state-of-the-art machinery and instruments
for all the courses.
Library: The high technology facilities
enable the students to gain sound practical knowledge.
The college has a library with 6000 books. Journals in
Engineering, Information Technology, Science and Humanities
help students to learn about latest developments in every
field.

The 'Department of Placement and Training'
was organized with the very First batch of our Engineering
Students, moving into their Third year of Studies, in
1998. While conceptualizing, formulating and establishing
the Department, 'Creation of Excellent Career Path ways'
for Student Community, either 'through Placement or Guidance
for Entrepreneurship or through Higher Studies' was taken
as the 'Ultimate Objective'.
As of today, "PLACEMENT AND TRAINING DEPARTMENT WITH
ITS INDUSTRY INTERACTION CELL" functions as the NODAL
AGENCY by undertaking all these Activities at our College
and provides the necessary Interface and Coordination
between various Departments of our College and Industries
and External Agencies.
The Training and Placement Department, with its Office
for HOD, Industry Interaction Cell and the Offices for
the Assistant Professor/ Student Affairs, the Placement
Executive and the Office staff, is housed in the heart
of the Campus, to provide easy reach for the Industries,
Faculty and Students.
Each year, a greater percentage of our students are placed
in reputed organizations like TCS, Infosys, Caritor, Bilasoft,
L & T Infotech, Hewlett Packard, iNautix Technologies
Pvt. Ltd., iGate Global Solutions Ltd., DSL Software Ltd.
and Satyam Computers.
