The formation of the Trust was
initiated by the philanthorpic spurts exerted by Thiru S. Regupathy
in association with a group of like-minded patrons who are best regarded
for their bountiful services to the promotion of education. The avowed
objective of the Trust was to provide facilities for innovative higher
education with vocational bias.
The trust as its maiden venture established an arts and science college in the name and style of J.J. College
of Arts and Science in Pudukkottai in a humble way with 2 courses in 1994. The college today offers 35 courses
of study and has the honour being accredited with B++ Grade, equivalent to Five Star status by NAAC, Bangalore.
The College unflinchingly marches towards its ultimate dream of becoming a deemed university .
Having established an Arts and Science college of excellence, the trust deemed it fit to start an Engineering college
and the Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and Technology (KVCET) took birth in 2001.
The trust, being aware of the ever increasing demand of human resources
in the fast developing areas of computer science and information technology
and all potent to establish, develop and run an ace institution in engineering
and technology incepted Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering and
Technology.
The College aims at imparting the best of the technical education steeped
in the value based higher education which the management has constantly
stood for.

Spread in an area of 54 acres, KVCET is learner friendly. The main building
is a stupendous structure with a built-up plinth area of 1.8 lakh sq.ft
cater to the needs, convenience and comfort of the students. Thirty
class rooms, a well-stacked library, sophisticated laboratories, 2 workshops,
air conditioned computer centres with internet facility, a conference
hall, canteen and a student amenity area are housed in the main building.
Computer Centre: The Highly-sophisticated computer centre is
well equipped with 270 systems of Pentium IV 2.26Ghz with 40GB Hard
Disk Drive, 128MB DDR Ram and 17 inch color monitor. The systems are
supported by 41 KVA UPS. The lab is set up in an area of 5964.Sq.ft.
and provided with granite flooring, vertical blinds for windows and
split type air conditioning unit of 24 tonnes capacity.
Peripherals such as laser printer, inkjet printers, dot matrix printers
and multimedia kits are available. Leased line facility is available.
Internet browsing is allowed for students from 09.00 a.m to 06.30 p.m
on all days.
Accommodation - Home substituted: The richly furnished, separate
hostels for men and women make students feel at home. The ambience provided
in the hostels makes the staying mirthful and is encouraging for the
students. Sports facilities movie screening and internet are made available
for relaxation of the students.
Library: The library of Karpaga Vinayaga College of Engineering
and Technology has set its vision as "To enlighten the user community".
The library with a floor area of about 6873.70sq.ft., the reading hall
and a seating capacity of 150 pupils promotes serious, inquisitive learning.
Transport: The College plies its own buses from Chennai city,
Madhuranthagam, Kalpakkam Acharapakkam, and Chengalpattu to the college
premises. Hi-tech bus facilities enable all the day scholars to be in
time to the college.

An active Training and placement is function in out institution under the guidance of the placement officer.
The main function of this cell is to arrange for on campus & off - campus interviews for the students after
giving sufficient training in these aspects. Mock interviews and aptitude test are conducted in order to train the
students. Apart from this, the cell arranges industrial visits, inplant training, seminars, guest lecturers, and
industry-institute interaction.
