GKM College of Engineering
& Technology has been established in the year 1996.
It is situated in the greenish village at Thiruvencherry
which is near to Tambaram railway station (From Tambaram
Railway Station 5.50 kms). The Chairman of this college
Dr.G.Kathamuthu and the Correspondent is Mrs.Sujatha
Balasubramanian, MBA (BGL). The College established
with an aim of imparting technical education and training
the students to cope up with the latest technological
advancement and to enable the youngsters to compete with
the others in the global up gradation. With the understanding
and Co-Operation of Staff, Enlightened parents and their
wads, the support and encouragement given by the Managing
Committee, the institution will continue to serve the
cause of higher education and uphold the tradition of
culture, Godliness and good conduct and spread the message
of love and friendship among the students.

Ganapathia Pillai Block
Ganapathia Pillai Block is a separate building is constructed exclusively for
placement of first year students consisting of five classrooms, with
an excellent Lab for Physics, Chemistry, Workshop and Drawing hall.
A separate Computer Lab of 60 Systems with the configuration of Pentium
III for the freshers in 30,000 Sq.ft. Building.
Annai Seethai Ammal Block
This Block is constructed exclusively for the Electronics &
communication department in 20000 Sq.ft. with a perfect Micro Processor
lab & Micro Wave Labs.
TMT Sundari Ammal Block
Information Technology park installed with 250 Systems with online
Internet Facilities Exclusive for Computer Science Department.
Er. Vaiyapuri Block
This Block is exclusively designed to fulfill the needs of Electrical
and Electronics students with perfect lab facilities in 12,000 Sq.ft.
Building.
Chinnasamy Block
Chinnasamy Block is constructed in 12000 Sq.ft. with latest equipments
to provide advanced knowledge for the future Mechanical Engineers.
Dr. N.V. Block
A Separate hostel for ladies and gents have been constructed to accommodate
nearly 500 students. Separate hostel with an international standard
has been provided.
Our College has the NCC wing, through which one of our
student Mr.K.Mathew C. Chacko has been selected for the “Officer
Cadre” in the Officer Training Academy (OTA), Chennai Division.
Transport Facility
We are operating nearly 14 buses and it covers nearly all the points
from the city especially from Chengalpattu, Avadi, Thiruvotriyur,
Perambur, Adyar.

Nearly five passed out batches students have gone out from our college. Many
of our students has gone for higher studies at U.S.A, U.K., Australia,
New zealand, Germany etc.,
Ms.V.Deepa lakshmi – (EEE student – 19th Rank), Ms.K.M.Meenakshi
(EEE student – 20th Rank) & Ms.R.Mitra (EEE student –
14th Rank) has got university ranks from our college.
The college has a fully functional placement and training and continuing
education cell. The cell strives to inculcate additional skills and
knowledge on latest technology through special courses and training
programs. Industrial exposure is given through industrial and in-plant
training. Students are being placed through campus interview.
