Sri Kaliswari College is
the fastest knowledge-disseminating lighthouse among Arts and Science
colleges in South India. It has been established by the trust of the
nation's leading Fire Works, Safety Matches, Pyrotechnics, Metal Powder
industries etc., Sri Kaliswari Group of Industries, Sivakasi. Sri
Kaliswari Trust formed by a team of Philanthropists with youth and
wisdom acquired over rich experience, has started this college with
sheer dedication to higher quality education and vision to contribute
highly talented youth, capable to make the nation a better one. The
Trust started this Arts and Science college with the approval of the
Tamilnadu Government (G.O.No.190, dt.07.06.2000) and affiliation of
Madurai Kamaraj University.

The college is housed in a 17.5
acre campus in a three-Storied Palatial Building on the Sivakasi -Virudhunagar
Highway, at a Distance of about 7 KM from Sivakasi. Classrooms, Laboratories,
Library, Conference hall, Hostels and Playground have been designed,
following the modern sophisticated methods with rich aesthetic value.
It can be termed as a marvel of the new millennium Architecture. Frequent
buses are available from both Virudhunagar and Sivakasi to the College.
Library: The college library is functioning in a spacious serene atmosphere
with 12231 books shelved properly according to different disciplines.
73 Magazines (16 Tamil and 57 English), 36 Journals, 3 Bulletins and
9 News Papers (5 Tamil, 3 English and 1 in Malayalam) are being subscribed.
Students can use the library from 8.30 am to 5.45 pm. Open access system
is followed and each student is provided with two library tokens by
which every day he can have any book from the library for reference.
Hostel: Separate hostels for men and women with modern amenities
are available in the campus. A parental approach is essential for the
students who are away from their home. Such an atmosphere, a home away
from home, is being provided. Both Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian foods
are available in the mess. Cost of the Boarding and Lodging is met by
dividing system among the Inmates. For providing hygienic food, steam
cooking facilities are provided by the Management. A mineral water plant
that provides drinking water in the hostel for 24 hrs. There is a reading
room with various books, magazines and newspapers and television with
cable connections for their entertainment. Students are guided to cultivate
the heart of getting early from bed in the morning (05:30 AM) and suggested
to do some physical exercises including games for improving their physical
health also. Hostel day is being celebrated every year in a splendid
manner.

The Placement and Career Guidance cell initiates active steps for the
job opportunities of the students in the renowned organisation. This
cell has a tie up with the Franchisees of ICICI Bank Ltd.,
In collaboration with I-top Companies, Orientation programmes on information
technology are conducted for the software professionals of our college
to face the interviews in their field and to develop their personality
development. Further we are taking sincere and effective steps to tie
up with leading companies like Gamzer Software (P) Ltd and various Industries.
