DharmaNaidu Educational and Charitable Trust was founded in 1992 by Thiru. D. Sudharssanam and brothers, Sons of late Dharma Naidu, a popular philanthropist known for his services to the society.
The activities of the Trust are governed from the Administrative office at E4, IIIrd Avenue, Anna Nagar East, Chennai - 600 102 .
The sole objectives is to render services in the field of education by catering to the needs of rural and semi – urban people in and around Chennai, to fulfil the ambitions of the parents of Trustees.
To impart Quality education and to compete with advancement of technology at global level, the Trust has established the following three Institutions.
1. S.A. Polytechnic College (Estd. in 1996 – 97 )
2. S.A. Engineering College (Estd. in 1998 – 99)
3. S.A. Teacher Training Institute (Estd. in 2005 – 06)
The name of S.A. Polytechnic was changed to S.A. Polytechnic College,
as per G.O MS No. 62 dt. 13 - 03 - 2002 of Higher Education (B2) Department
of Govt. of Tamilnadu, S.A. Polytechnic College started during academic
year 1996 - 97 with an annual intake of 180 students, was functioning
in E4, IIIrd Avenue, Anna Nagar East, Chennai - 102 in temporary Premises,
till it was shifted to its permanent location in Sundarasolavaram, Chennai
- 77 during 1997 - 98 with an intake of 300 students.

BUILDINGS, LABORATORIES, WORKSHOPS Etc.
The reinforced concrete main building covering carpet area of 40,000
sq.ft. is allotted to various Department for instructional lecture
halls and well - equipped Laboratories for Electrical Lab, Electronics
Lab, Chemistry Lab, Physics Lab, Computer Lab and also Library, as
per norms and conditions laid down by All India Council for Technical
Education (AICTE). Apart from this, there are four sheds covering
12,000 sq.ft. in which the following are accommodated:
(I) Machine shop
(II) Special Machine Work shop
(III) Foundry and Welding shop
(IV) Mechanics of Materials & Fluid Mechanics Lab
(V) Thermal Laboratory
(VI) Fitting, Carpentry etc.,
(VII) AutoCAD / Cad - Cam Lab and
(VIII) Microprocessor Lab
(IX) Auto Mobile
(X) Civil Lab
