Modern medicine cannot be practiced without the support of nursing for which
the world remains grateful to Florence Nightingale, the pioneer. The
light lit by her has been carried forward by Sri Lakshmi Ammal
Educational Trust with the establishment of the Sree Balaji
College of Nursing.
The College was launched with Government approval in 1992, vide G.O. No. 722 dated
03-07-92. The College is approved by the Tamilnadu Nursing Council
and is affiliated to Tamilnadu Dr. M G R Medical University.

The laboratories for Anatomy, Physiology, Bio-Chemistry and Micro-Biology are well
equipped. In addition to these, Medical Surgical Nursing, Fundamental
Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Paediatric / Obstetric Nursing
and Nutrition laboratories are ideally provided with equipment at
an advanced level. The students are exposed to these equipment and
various other modern teaching aids, such as demonstration models,
charts and audio visual presentations by slide projectors / video
cassettes etc.
This College has a team of well experienced, highly qualified and dedicated
faculty members in various nursing specialities.
The College has been equipped with a modern library of its own. This library is
well stocked with the latest books and journals in Medical and Nursing
education.

Campus interviews are conducted to give students the opportunity to present
their talents to prospective employers. Many are offered positions
in good organisations even awaiting completion of their course.
