The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, has invited applications for the 26.04.2009 entrance examination for admission to the following programs.

(i) Research Program [Ph D, M Sc (Engg)]
(ii) Course Program [ME, M Tech, M Des]
(iii) Integrated Ph D Program
(iv) External Registration Program[Ph D, M Sc (Engg)] at the Institute.

Important Dates to Remember:
Date of Examination: 26.04.2009
Commencement of issue of Application forms (select Canara Banks and IISc) and submission of online application: 09.02.2009
Last date for issue of Application forms (select Canara Banks and IISc) and closure of website for submission of online application: 18.03.2009
Last date for receipt of completed Application forms both offline and online (hard copy): 23.03.2009

Application Cost:
In Person: Rs.700/-
By Post: Rs.700/- for General and Rs.350/- for S.C., S.T. categories
Through Online: Rs.500/- for General and Rs.250/- for S.C., S.T. categories

Mode of Payment (DD / Cash):
1.On Cash payment: cash payment of Rs.700/- from select CANARA BANK Branches
2.Through DD: Bank draft for Rs.700 (Rs.350) in favour of Registrar, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
Application Forms:

• In Person: cash payment of Rs.700/- from select CANARA BANK Branches
  
  
• By Post: Send your request for application form with 2 address slips (stickers), and a demand draft for Rs.700/- for general category (Rs.350/- for SC/ST/PH categories, along with a copy of an appropriate certificate) to the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Admissions Unit, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore - 560 012. The DD must be drawn in favor of "Registrar, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore".
  
  
• 3. Online application: Online submission of application may be made by accessing the IISc website www.iisc.ernet.in/admissions w.e.f. 09.02.2009. Online application fee is Rs.500/- for general category and Rs.250/- for SC/ST/PH categories.
  
  

For External Registration Program:
Candidates should write to the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Admissions Unit, IISc, Bangalore - 560 012, enclosing a DD for Rs.1500/- drawn in favor of "Registrar, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore".

Eligbility:

• Eligibility criteria, specialization, areas of research and the other details are available at our website www.iisc.ernet.in/admissions Candidates who have not yet completed their qualifying examinations and expect to complete all the requirements for the degree (including all examinations, project dissertation, viva-voce etc.) before July 31, 2009, are also eligible to apply.
  

Filled-in off-line and online application forms(hard copy) should reach the Deputy Registrar (Academic), Admissions Unit, IISc, Bangalore - 560 012 on or before 23.03.2009.
