February 08, 2009 - Indian Council of Agricultural Research - All India Entrance Examination (AIEEA - PG - 2009) for admission to Master's Degree Programmes in Agriculture and Allied Sciences

Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) invites applications, in prescribed form, from Indian Nationals, for its 14th All India Competitive Examination for admissions to 100% seats of Master's Degree programme at IARI, IVRI, CIFE, NDRI, and 25% seats at all the State Agricultural Universities (CAU, BHU, AMU, Viswa Bharti and Nagaland University), and AAUDU in the field of Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Agricultural Engineering, Home Science, Social Science, Dairy, Fisheries, Veterinary, Agriculture Business Management and Allied Sciences, for the Academic Session 2009 - 2010 and Award of ICAR's Junior Research Fellowships (JRF).

Programs Offered: M.Sc, M.Tech, M.F.Sc in Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Agricultural Engineering, Home Science, Social Science, Dairy, Fisheries, Veterinary, Agriculture Business Management and Allied Sciences.

Important Dates to Remember:
Date and Venue of Examination: Sunday, 16.05.2009 (Time: 10.00 - 12.30 hours) at centers / cities stated in the Information Bulletin
Receipt of filled in Application Forms (Non-remote areas): On or before 07.04.2009
Receipt of filled in Application Forms from remote areas: On or before 14.04.2009
Purchase of Information Bulletin with Application Forms: 20.02.2009 to 31.03.2009

Application Cost:
Through Universities: Rs.500/- + Rs.25/- (handling charges) for General, OBC and UPS Categories and Rs.250/- + Rs. 25/- (handling charges) for S.C., S.T. and P.H. categories
Through Bank Branches: Rs.500/- + Rs.25/- (Service Charges) for General, OBC and UPS Categories and Rs.250/- + Rs.25/- (Service Charges) for S.C., S.T. and P.H. categories.
Through Bank Draft: Rs.550/- for General, OBC, UPS and Rs.300/- for SC, ST and PH candidates.
By Post: Rs.550/- (Rs.500/- + Rs.50/- towards postal and handling charges) for General, OBC and UPS Categories and Rs.300/- (250/- + 50/- towards postal and handling charges) for S.C., S.T. and P.H. Categories.

Mode of Payment (DD / Cash):
1.On Cash payment: From Offices of the Registrars of State Agricultural Universities and from Branches of the Syndicate Bank.
2.Through DD: From four ICAR Institutes, CARI Port Blair, ICAR Res. Complex Goa, NDRI Karnal and NAARM Hyderabad and also from Examination Cell, Education Division, ICAR, KAB-II, New Delhi - 110 012 (through DD by post only). The A/c payee bank draft should be made in favour of "Deputy Director General (Education), ICAR" payable at "New Delhi".
Application Forms:
  • In Person: Candidate can obtain a Application Form from Designated Bank Branches and Universities corresponding to each zone on cash payment or Offices of the Registrars of Agricultural Universities after handing over Demand Draft for appropriate amount.

  • By Post: Candidates from remote places can obtain the Information Bulletin with Application Form by sending written request to the Controller of Exams, Education Division, ICAR, KABII, Pusa, New Delhi - 110 012 along with Bank Draft.

Eligbility:
  • Age: Not less than 19 years as on 31st August 2009.
  • Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (or appearing in Final year examination), in the field of Agriculture, Veterinary, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Sericulture, Dairy Technology, Dairy Engineering, Forestry, Agri. Marketing Banking and Cooperation, Food Science & Technology, Biotechnology, Process & Food Engineering, Computer Science, Basic and allied sciences under 10+2+5 or 10+2+4 (most seats) or 10+2+3 (only few seats) with 60% marks or OGPA 6.60/ 10.00 or 3.25/5.00 or 2.60/4.00 for General, OBC and UPS categories and 55% marks or OGPA 5.50/ 10.00 or 2.75/5.00 or 2.20/4.00 for SC, ST and Physically Handicapped (PH) categories.
    For admission in the subject of Veterinary Sciences, candidates must have completed B.V.Sc. & A.H. with Internship before the date of registration in the University or August 31, 2009 whichever is earlier. It may be noted that the candidate has to fulfill the eligibility criteria of the admitting University for the admission at the time of counseling. (Candidates appearing in the final year examination of Bachelor degree will have to submit certificates/ provisional mark sheets signed by the Registrar of the University of their having completed the degree in all respects on the date of counseling or else they will be summarily disqualified).
The last date for the receipt of filled Application Forms in the Office of the Controller of Exams, Education Division, ICAR, KAB-II, Pusa, New Delhi - 110 012 is 07.04.2009. However for the candidates from remote areas viz. Mizoram, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Ladakh Division of J&K State, Lahaul and Spiti District and Pangi Sub- Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, A&N Islands and Lakshadweep, the last date for receipt of filled Application Form is 14.04.2009.
