Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering
is a very special one in many respects. It is the
first institute of technology conceived and being established
by a group of Non-resident Indians. It is the first ecumenical
venture in engineering education, launched by members
of various Christian denominations. It is indeed a co-operative
movement in higher education, all members having equal
rights and privileges. The Management is committed to
building world-class infrastructure facilities and learning
environment , positioning a team of high profile academicians
for ensuring academic excellence and establishing responsive
relations with the neighbourhood communities.
Dr. G. George, Founder and General Secretary of The Gulf Returnees Educational Society and Chairman - Correspondent of Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering. Dr.G.George is a visionary institution builder, successful entrepreneur and devoted social worker.
Rev. Dr. Samuel T.Varghese, Chairman, The Gulf Returnees Educational Society a well-known spiritual and social leader in India and especially in Kerala. As a Priest of Mar Thoma Church he has served in serveral Parishes in Kerala. He is a pioneer missionary Pastor and a strong visionary.

Infrastructure

Buildings: We have constructed
over 2,200,00 sq.ft. of buildings in separate blocks for
ECE, BME, PE & Mech. Engineering and Main Block. All
our buildings are aesthetically designed to meet the demands
of modern educational institutions.
Main block which has a unique design with 3 floors measuring 90,000 sq.ft. accommodates not only 1st year classes and laboratories but also Principals & Admn. Office, Computer Centre & Library. CSE & IT classes and labs for 2nd to 4th year are also established at the 2nd and 3rd floor.
Workshop: The Central Workshop caters to the needs of the students of various departments for practical training and project work. It consists of the following sections: Machine Shop, Carpentry, Fitting Shop, Welding Shop, Foundry and Smithy Workshop.
Central Library: The library is designed as the nerve centre of learning and research at the college. A large collection of books, reference volumes, technical and scientific periodicals are arranged in well-organised shelves. All systems in the library are computerised. The library also will have a well-equipped Information Technology section. It will offer online access to international databases, E-mail service and CD-ROM facility.
Hostels: Seperate hostels, for boys and girls are available, with modern facilities.
Health Service: The College clinic will be open throughout the day from Monday through Friday and forenoons on Saturday. Services of doctors are available and are assisted by a resident nurse.
Transport: The College maintains a fleet of buses for the benefit of day scholars and staff. Limited transport facility is scheduled for resident students and staff during weekends.

Placement

The College has a well developed "Career
Development Centre" (CDC) which looks after the Student
Placement affairs and provides assistance to the students
of the college for career development.
The CDC would take care of the student right from the time of admission, help the students to understand their potential, and guide them to launch themselves in successful careers. Special training for developing the communication skills and personality development is provided to the students so that they may face the world of work with confidence.
Our students have been placed in various companies like CTS, Wiporo, Infosys, L & T, Infotech, Syntel, Birlasoft, Satyam, Sify, IBM etc.
