The Sona College of Technology in Salem established a new golf links. It is the first time an educational institution in this part of the State has come up with such a facility.

The new golf course was established on a sprawling site inside the college premises. Much enthusiasm was shown at the opening of the golf links in the college as a number of golfers in the city and neighbouring towns had to travel to other places to p lay their favourite sport.


The golf links was established under the Sona School of Management, the business school of the college. Opening the golf links, College Secretary S. Dhirajlal said playing golf was a sort of meditation. Apart from the students and staff of the college, general public could also play, he added.
