Thanjavur: Tamil University here has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur for research in Tamil language and development.
Dr.M.Rajendran, Vice-Chancellor of Tamil University, said on Thursday that he had signed the MoU at Kuala Lumpur in the presence of Malaysian professors, educationists and Tamil writers last week.
The Vice-Chancellor said that the Malaya University had signed MoUs with a number of countries for research in several fields including agriculture, economics, medicine, nanotechnology. It is for the first time that it had signed an MoU for carrying out research in a language (Tamil).
