Madurai: A national-level technical symposium, ‘AVIZA,’ was organised by the Department of Information Technology of Sethu Institute of Technology, Kariapatti. It was inaugurated by Visukumar Gopal of WIPRO. S. Mohamed Jaleel, chairman, presided.

Mr. Gopal felt that with the USA facing recession the IT industry could seek the cooperation of other European nations, including UK, for its growth. He also highlighted the importance of infrastructure management.


During the seminar, 55 papers were presented on grid computing, artificial intelligence and image processing.

Student secretary Melvin Jehalin welcomed the gathering. N. Ramesh Raj delivered a vote of thanks.
