RVS students on an exchange programme to the U.K.
INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE: The students of RVS College of Arts

exchange programme.
Coimbatore: Sixteen students from the Information Technology Department
of RVS College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, visited the
University of Leicester, the U.K., on a student exchange programme.The
first delegation of students went to the university on a ten-day
visit from September 6 to 16. They were accompanied by two faculty
members – Vishnu Swaminathan and Christopher Daniel.The
programme included a five-day academic training programme in
areas of web development, signa l processing, ISO and CMM standards.
The students also participated in an international conference
on “Graph Transformation” organised by the university. According
to Michael Green, Director, International Office, University
of Leicester, this was the first time the university was hosting
a group of Indian students. He hoped the students had a good
experience.Senthil Ganesh, Managing Trustee of RVS Group, said
he hoped that the student exchange programme would be the beginning
of a long-term relationship with the university.The university
and the college are working jointly to offer a masters’
programme in Information Technology.
It is expected to be a joint delivery programme and a locally
delivered international one. Both the parties are also working
towards staff exchange, academic and research collaborations
and joint student development.
