Symposium on herbal drugs at Bharathiar University
Coimbatore: The Department of Botany of Bharathiar University
will organise a national symposium on “Herbal Drug Research”
on September 25 and 26.
According to a release from the university, W. Selvamurthy,
Distinguished Scientist and Chief Controller, R&D, Defence
Research and Development Organisation, will inaugurate the symposium.
Vice-Chancellor G. Thiruvasagam will preside and A. Ramachandran,
Director, Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation, Anna University,
will deliver the keynote address.
Innovations
The symposium will serve as a platform to share research achievements
and innovations in herbal science, developments in herbal drugs
and ethical and safety issues concerning herbal drugs, the release
adds.
Strategic plans
The outcome of the symposium is expected to be helpful in evolving
strategic plans and programmes towards promotion of herbal science
research.
