Dual degree programme in Ramnad campus
Ramanathapuram: Anna University–Tiruchi will implement
dual degree programme from the current academic year for non-Information
Technology students in its new campuses, including Ramanathapuram
and Thirukkuvalai.
Though all students can apply for the dual degree programme,
those who have completed all 16 first year’s papers and
6 practical examinations will only be admitted.
Similarly, the selected students will have to get a total 280
credits, of which 100 credits are meant for B. Tech, to get
dual degree (BE. and B. Tech (IT)).
Speaking to The Hindu here on Monday after inaugurating the
first year BE classes, T. Sree Renga Raja, Dean, Anna University-Tiruchi,
and R. Subramania Pillai, Academic Head, Ramanathapuram campus,
said that the aim was to give IT focus to non-IT students.
The students of Mechanical, Civil and Electronics and Communication
Engineering could join the dual degree programme. Similarly,
Mr. Raja said, the university would also offer another dual
degree programme (BE. and MBA) for all students from the current
academic year.
