Allotment letters given to toppers in MBBS rank list

Chennai: Health Minister M.R.K. Panneerselvam on Thursday handed over allotment letters to nine toppers in the MBBS rank list for 2008-2009.

At a brief function held on the Directorate of Medical Education campus ahead of the counselling schedule, he gave away the letters to the students who had scored 200/200.

Sonu Rajan, a third-year BDS student, who topped the list this year, received the first letter from the Minister. Speaking later, she said she had not made up her mind if she would take up the MBBS seat, since she had only a year to get her BDS degree.

The eight others are S.V. Manoj Kumar of Rasipuram; V. Arun of Chengalpet; T. Dinesh of Uttangarai; S. Venkatesh and K. Kamalakumar of Rasipuram; A.M. Vignesh of Palayamkottai; E. Manoj Kumar of Rasipuram and I.V. Priyamvadha of Gobichettipalayam.

Health Secretary V.K. Subburaj, Director of Medical Education T.P. Kalaniti and Selection Committee Secretary J. Mohanasundaram were present.
