Websites: a boon for prospective college-goers
FASTER SOLUTIONS: A student viewing her Plus Two aggregate marks
on a website
Coimbatore: From announcing results or providing marklists to rank analysis and counselling, websites have come a long way.
A host of websites are offering help to students who have passed Plus-Two in deciding the course and even the college.
Rank analysis
Topping the list is collegesintamilnadu.com with its much popular rank analysis. Key in the Plus-Two registration number and one will get her aggregate marks for medicine and engineering and the number of students who have the same aggregate and those who have a higher one.
“This is not the final rank list. But, a rank analysis that can help students know whether they stand a better chance in the medical or engineering counselling, before the list is released in the final week of June. We started this last year and it has been a great hit (897 in the traffic rank according to alexa.com). We load the aggregates just two hours after the results are announced,” says R.V. Srivatsan, Director of Adroit Techno Solutions, who has hosted the site.
According to alexa.com there have been 25,146 hits on May 19.
Intelligent browsing
