80 institutions get approval to offer B.Ed
TIRUCHI: Bharathidasan University has come out with a list of
80 institutions that have obtained approval to offer B.Ed. programme.
Of them, two are Government Colleges of Education at Pudukkottai
and Orthanad, and the rest are un-aided institutions spread
over the jurisdictional districts of Tiruchi, Karur, Pudukkottai,
Perambalur, Ariyalur, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur and Thanjavur.
Only those institutions that have obtained the approval of National
Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) after fulfilling norms
have been permitted by the university to offer the programme,
the Registrar V. Radhakrishnan said.
All the approved institutions have been listed in the university
website, ‘ www.bdu.ac.in,’ he said, advising students
and parents to ensure that the B.Ed colleges they approach for
admission are approved institutions.
The university cannot be held responsible for the future of
those students enrolling themselves in unrecognised institutions,
he cautioned.
