MADURAI: Indian Constitution should be a part of the school
curriculum to help students grow up with the knowledge of Constitution
and its salient features, according to Justice S. Nagamuthu,
Judge, Madras High Court.
Presiding over the Ninth Convocation of the Sethu Institute
of Technology here on Sunday, he said that knowledge of
Indian Constitution was must for students right from fifth standard.
Expressing concern over failure to stop brain drain from the
country, he exhorted the youth to search for opportunities available
in the country to serve the society that brought them up. He
asked those who wished to venture out in pursuit of greener
pastures not to forget the fact that their roots were here.
Cautioning the students of the challenging and competitive world
outside, he urged them to equip themselves better to face the
challenges. For, transition from the protected environment of
college and home to a life filled with stifling situations should
be smooth, he said.
Delivering the convocation address, Justice K. Venkataraman,
Judge, Madras High Court, said that hard work with sincerity
and confidence would stand one in good stead to achieve success.
Students should also be courageous to do whatever legally possible,
he said.
Stressing for committed effort in all endeavours, he said that
efforts might sometime end up in failure, but one should see
to it that the intensity was maintained at the same level.
He also acknowledged the efforts of parents and teachers in
helping the students tread confidently on the success path.
