Varsity signs 2 MoUs for job creation
TIRUCHI: The Institute for Entrepreneurship and Career Development
(IECD), Bharathidasan University, has signed two MoUs: one with
Animation Academy, Shalom InfoTech (P) Ltd., and another with
International Institute for Career Development (IICD), with
a view to creating employment opportunities through special
training programmes for dropouts, youths with Plus Two qualification
and above, and school and college-going students.
In the presence of Vice-Chancellor M. Ponnavaikko and IECD Director
K. Parthasarathy, Registrar V. Radhakrishnan exchanged the MoU
documents with honorary Director of the Animation Academy, Shalom
InfoTech C. Muthu, and Executive Director of IICD Raghupathy
on Wednesday.
The MoU with Shalom InfoTech is against the backdrop of a recent
study stating that Indian animation industry will need 3,00,000
animation professionals in the fields of entertainment, advertising
and online education by 2009.
Through the MoU, the IECD would offer a three-month certificate
programmes in 3D Animation (3DS Max) and Web Design, and six-month
diploma course in 3D Animation (3DS Max and Maya).
The courses would be conducted at the Animation Academy at Thillai
Nagar in the city on weekdays and weekends separately for the
benefit of 10th passed / failed students through off-campus

The IICD, an initiative of a cluster of industries with support
from World Trade Centre, Singapore, has collaborations with
more than 50 MNCs for offering three-month certificate programmes
in Office Management, Customer Relations Management, Business
Communication, BPO / KPO Management, and Medical Transcription.
