Youth must grab chances: VC

PUDUKOTTAI: India was forging ahead in the areas of economy,
information technology, biotechnology, nanotechnology and eco-technology
and youths should grab the opportunities to contribute their
mite in these areas, said the Vice-Chancellor of Tiruvalluvar
University, L. Kannan.
Inaugurating the three-day national seminar on ‘The present
scenario in biodiversity, biotechnology and environmental management’
at the J. J. College of Arts and Science here
on Thursday, he explained the impact of biodiversity on various
areas including development of food production, fodder cultivation
besides medicinal, ornamental, cultural and recreational value.
The Principal of the college, J. Parasuraman said that noted
faculty members and scientists would present papers at the seminar,
organised jointly by the Departments of Biotechnology, Botany
and Environmental Sciences of the college.
Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor released a souvenir and the first
copy was received by the college secretary N. Subramanian. The
Management Trustee, Kavitha Subramanian spoke.
