Madurai: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering
of Sethu Institute of Technology organised
a two-day national seminar on ‘Recent challenges in intelligent
pervasive computing’ under the sponsorship of Defence
Research and Development Organisation last recently.
In his inaugural address, V. Ramachandran, Vice-Chancellor,
Anna University, Tiruchi, said that pervasive computing technology,
a recent and fast developing technology, was the convergence
of many disciplines such as mechanical, civil and computer engineering.
Cell phones could be used to switch on and switch off fans,
lights, air conditioners and other electrical equipment even
from remote places once the technology was inserted into the
cell phone. Balamuralidhar, Head, TCS Innovation, spoke about
‘Wireless pervasive computing.’
