More research programmes to be held

TIRUCHI: With its Research Initiative Programme (RIP) providing for the pooling of research talents in emerging areas and expanding the knowledge base of research scholars gathering momentum, the Anna University – Tiruchi (AU-T) has decided to conduct two such programmes per month.

Over the past couple of months, the AU-T has conducted three RIPs – in service oriented architecture, real time embedded system, and high pressure liquid chromotogrpahy techniques – and the fourth on advanced database techniques was slated for December 13 to 16, the Vice-Chancellor V. Ramachandran informed, adding that weekends and holidays would be optimised for conducting the programme. Core areas such as pharmaceutical, automobile, civil, and electronics are to be covered under the programme.

Under the RIP, research scholars gain the advantage of learning from multiple experts even while networking among themselves in relevant areas. They can broaden their knowledge base and the same applies to research guides who are invited as resource persons. This concept is being executed by the University’s Professional Development Education Centre, a part of Centre for Academic Excellence.

The university has also planned to conduct ‘Induction Programmes’ on the lines of Finishing School to make students job-ready by the time they complete their programmes.
