IGNOU offers B.Sc. Nautical Science

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has invited
applications for admission to its B.Sc. Nautical Science programme
commencing in February 2008.
This programme has been designed and developed in collaboration
with the Directorate General of Shipping, so as to equip students
for a career in the Merchant Navy.
Entry
Entry qualification is 10 +2 with physics, chemistry
and mathematics with not less than 55 per cent marks in these
three science subjects or B.Sc. Physics with 50 per cent marks
or BE/B.Tech.
Candidates should have passed English with minimum 50 percent
marks either in the 10/12 standards or in the degree level examinations.
Eligibility
Age should not be more than 20 years for Plus Two holders; 22
years for B.Sc. holders; and 24 for BE/B.Tech. holders as on
January 1,2008.
Applicants should medically and physically fit and have normal
eyesight.
Entrance test
Selection is on the basis of an All-India level entrance test
to be held on December 23. Application forms and other details
can be down loaded from the website http://www.ignou.ac.in .
Last date for submission of application to the Registrar (SR
&ED), IGNOU, New Delhi – 110068 is December 3.
