Good response to campus interview
  • Over 1,550 students participate
  • Drive to continue till August 9
Tiruchi: The maiden weeklong campus recruitment drive organised by Anna University-Tiruchi for students of its affiliated colleges evoked an overwhelming response here on Saturday.

Many students took the written test outside the auditorium, the venue, under specially erected ‘shamianas.’

To ease the process of registration, the university had permitted entries by web site. But many students availed themselves of the spot-registration facility also, said Registrar R.M. Chandrasekaran.

Over 1,550 graduates and postgraduate engineering students, including 700-odd girls, from 40 colleges, mostly in and around Tiruchi, participated in the written test conducted by L&T Infotech on Saturday, Mr. Chandrasekaran said.

Speaking to the media, he said that there was a growing demand for engineering graduates in circuit and non-circuit branches and graduates in basic sciences such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science.

The varsity Placement Co-ordinator, V. Damodaran, said that L & T Infotech, iFlex Solutions and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) would conduct interviews. L & T Infotech would interview graduate and postgraduate engineering students in circuit and non-circuit branches on Saturday and Sunday.

iFlex Solutions would conduct interviews on August 6 and 7 for Computer Science and Engineering, and Information Technology students.

TCS would hold interview on August 8 and 9 for science students who had graduated in 2007. B.Sc. graduates in any discipline (except Botany and Zoology) and B.C.A. students can attend the interview.
