Affiliation granted to more colleges
Coimbatore: Anna University, Coimbatore, has given affiliation
to six engineering colleges. This is in addition to the nine
others that got affiliation earlier this year.
According to a release from S. Palaniswami, Registrar, the six
new self-financing colleges are: NGP Institute of Technology,
Hindusthan Institute of Technology, Nyruthi Institute of Technology,
Ranganathan Engineering College and SNS College of Engineering,
in Coimbatore, and CMS College of Engineering in Namakkal.
At present the number of colleges affiliated to the university
are 70; out of which 65 are self-financing, two are Government-aided
and three are Government colleges.
Coimbatore has 29 colleges; while Karur has three, Erode –
8, Salem – 4, Krishnagiri – 3, Dharmapuri –
2 and the Nilgiris has one college.
