University to entertain free seat applications
Coimbatore: Bharathiar University has extended the last date
for receipt of filled-in applications from “deserving”
students, who wish to pursue higher education at the university
free of cost, to July 20.
20 free seats
This is in pursuance of the announcement Vice-Chancellor G.
Thiruvasagam had made a few days ago that the university will
offer 20 free seats in its departments. One had already been
filled. “Students will be chosen based on their family
status, social status, economic status and academic status.
They can download the form from the university website www.b-u.ac.in
and send it to the Special Officer, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore
– 641046.” Dr. Thiruvasagam said. Mark sheets of
all six semesters, family income proof and claim preference
category should be sent along with the application.
Counselling
Counselling to select the 19 other candidates for various departments
would be held after screening of the applications. Those who
have already got admission under the scheme in any other college
would not be eligible to apply in the university.
