Renewable energy
Chennai: A two-day workshop on renewable energy sources was
conducted by the department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
recently at Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology, Paiyanoor.
N.R. Krishnan, former Energy Secretary, Government of India,
participated. Rajesh Katyal, Senior Scientist, Research and
Development, Centre for Wind Energy Technology, described the
current technologies in generation of electricity through wind
energy.
S. Kumarasamy, professor, IIT-Madras, and A. Mohammed Hussain,
Principal Scientific Officer, Ministry of Renewable Energy Sources,
described the potential of bio-energy as a source.
