Vice-Chancellors appointed for Coimbatore, Tiruchi Anna varsities
Chennai: The State Government on Thursday appointed R.Radhakrishnan and V.Ramachandran as
Vice-Chancellors of the newly constituted Coimbatore Anna University and Tiruchi Anna University.
Both are from the faculty of Anna University, Chennai.
While Mr. Radhakrishnan is Chief Investigator of the Centre for Providing Electronics and Information
Technology Patent Visualisation and Alert Services, Mr. Ramachandran is Director of the Ramanujan Centre
for Computing and Secretary, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions.
Mr. Radhakrishnan joined Anna University, Chennai, as a teaching/research fellow in 1984 and obtained a
postgraduate degree in Production Engineering in 1989. He became a lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering
department in 1989. He served as Private Secretary (Technical) to three of the varsity's Vice Chancellors
of Anna University from May 1999 to February2004 and from June 2005 to December 2005, apart from handling
public relations.
He also served as Director of the varsity's Centre for Technology Gateway and Director of Centre for
Intellectual Property Rights and Trade Marks. He has published several research papers in national and
international journals, a press release said.
Mr. Ramachandran joined the Ramanujan Computing Centre as System Assistant in 1982. He served as a
professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and associate professor in the Department
of Information Technology. He obtained his doctorate degree in Computer Applications in Power Systems from
Anna University in 1991 and served as visiting professor in several national and international institutes.
He has authored several research publications, another release said.
