First phase of counselling ends

15,206 seats filled through the single window system

Chennai: A total of 15,206 seats have been filled through the first phase of single window counselling for engineering admissions. The first phase ended here on Monday. The second phase will start on Tuesday and is likely to go on till August 20.

A total of 19,817 candidates was called for counselling and 4507 had absented themselves from the process, a press release here said. While the application of one candidate was rejected, 103 had skipped counselling.

As on Monday, while all seats under the O.C and B.C categories for Anna University constituent colleges had been filled up, around 41,000 seats still remained vacant in self-financing institutions.
