TNPCEE results on June 4
  • Single window system of counselling from July 10 to September 10
  • New academic year in all institutions affiliated to Anna University start from September 16
  • No delay in commencement of classes, says Anna University Vice-Chancellor
Chennai: The results of the Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examination for admission to undergraduate professional courses, which began on Thursday, will be published on June 4.

The rank list will be published on June 30 and the single window system of counselling will start on July 10 and end on August 10.


Classes on August 16

Classes for the next academic year in all institutions affiliated to the Anna University will commence on August 16.

"There would be no delay in commencement of classes as all mechanisms for the smooth conduct of the counselling have been put in place," Anna University Vice-Chancellor D. Viswanathan told reporters here during the commencement of the CET.

A total of 1,52,587 candidates — 89,110 men and 63,477 women — had registered for the TNPCEE that was held in 304 centres across 41 cities. In Chennai alone, 33,265 candidates had registered for the examination in 53 centres, followed by Coimbatore (9221 candidates), Madurai (7789 candidates), Tiruchy (6243 candidates), Vellore (6199 candidates) Tirunelveli (5844 candidates) and Salem (5376 candidates).

A total of 1,28,098 candidates had registered for the engineering entrance, 67,349 for the medical entrance and 68,125 and 68,048 for the agriculture and veterinary and animal sciences courses respectively.

Online registration

While 1,44,221 candidtes had registered online, the rest had applied through post. While 68,048 candidates had registered for the biology paper (including vocational), 1,48,675 had registered for physical sciences; 1,35,455 for mathematics (including vocational) and 233 for the vocational subjects (physics, chemistry and economics).

While the biology and physical sciences examinations were held on the forenoon and afternoon respectively on Thursday, the mathematics examination will be held on the forenoon of Friday.
