Chennai: Hundreds of students who wrote the higher secondary examinations thronged the Presidency Girls Higher Secondary School at Egmore here on Tuesday to collect their revised mark sheets following the publication of revaluation marks/results.
The students had been asked by the Directorate of Government Examinations to come to the school with their original certificates and the telegram containing the revised marks.
According to the Director of Government Examinations, more than 31,000 students applied for photostat copies in the Class XII examination subjects. Subsequently, about 4,990 students applied for `re-totalling' in various subjects.
"Students who have written their examinations for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Botany and Zoology can apply for revaluation. In all, we got 2,003 applications for revaluation," he said.
Officials involved in the process said the marks of about 1,500 students were revised. While a majority of them got an upward revision, a handful of students lost marks after revaluation, they added.
Following this, the rank list for the professional streams including Medicine, BDS, Engineering, Agriculture and Veterinary will be altered and these students would be eligible for seats according to the revised rank list.
